Plan the end of your shift

Clock-out Time Calculator

Find your leave time from a clock-in time, current shift progress or the hours needed to reach a weekly target.

Find your clock-out time

Clock-out calculation mode
Clock out at 5:30 PM 8h work + 30m unpaid break

Calculate from your clock-in time

Add the target work duration and any unpaid break to the clock-in time. Starting at 9:00 AM, working 8 hours and taking a 30-minute unpaid lunch produces a clock-out time of 5:30 PM.

Clock-out = clock-in + target work duration + unpaid break

Calculate from hours already worked

Choose the second mode when the shift has already started. ClockSlate subtracts the hours already worked from the target, then adds the remaining work time and any unpaid break still to take to the current time.

Clock-out = current time + (target − already worked) + remaining unpaid break

Reach a weekly target

Choose the weekly-target mode and enter hours completed before today plus today’s progress. ClockSlate calculates only the time still needed and adds any unpaid break that remains.

Remaining today = weekly target − earlier weekly hours − today’s worked hours

Examples

  • 8-hour day: 9:00 AM start + 8 hours + 30-minute unpaid lunch = 5:30 PM.
  • 7.5-hour day: 8:00 AM start + 7h 30m + 30-minute unpaid lunch = 4:00 PM.
  • Overnight: 10:00 PM start + 8 hours + 30-minute unpaid break = 6:30 AM next day.
  • Weekly goal: 40-hour target − 32 earlier hours − 4.5 hours today = 3.5 hours remaining.

Frequently asked questions

Should a paid break be added?

No. Paid breaks are already part of the target work duration. Add only break time that does not count toward the hours you must work.

What if I have already met my target?

The second mode shows the current time and notes that the target is already met. It does not subtract time from the result.

Can I enter 24-hour time?

Yes. Select 24-hour format and use a value such as 17:30 or 1730.
